Phone Direct is partnering with local authorities, NHS trusts, and charitable organisations across Coventry to recruit experienced Social Workers for critical frontline roles. These positions are central to supporting vulnerable children, families, and adults within the Coventry CV1 community, offering a chance to make a tangible difference while developing your professional career. Our deep understanding of the local social care landscape, from child protection teams to adult mental health services, allows us to place you in roles where your expertise is genuinely needed and valued. By applying through us, you gain access to a wider network of opportunities than applying to individual organisations, including roles that are not publicly advertised.
1 Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of need and risk for children, families, and vulnerable adults, formulating and implementing personalised support plans.
- Manage a complex caseload independently, ensuring all statutory requirements, documentation, and multi-agency working protocols are met to a high standard.
- Provide direct support, advocacy, and crisis intervention, working sensitively with service users from diverse backgrounds within the Coventry area.
- Prepare and present detailed reports for case conferences, court proceedings, and safeguarding meetings, demonstrating clear analytical skills.
- Participate actively in supervision and continuous professional development (CPD) to maintain and enhance practice standards.
2 Essential Requirements
- A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) and current Social Work England (SWE) registration.
- Substantial post-qualifying experience in a UK local authority setting, ideally within Children & Families or Adult Services.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation (Children Act 1989/2004, Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005) and safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent communication, resilience, and organisational skills, with a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable).
