Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties

As a Traffic Marshal stationed in Nottingham NG2, your primary duty is to ensure a safe and efficient flow of traffic around the site perimeter and within designated work zones. You will be the frontline for site safety, requiring vigilance, clear communication, and a firm understanding of traffic management plans (TMPs).

• Site Safety Monitoring & Hazard Reporting: Conducting regular visual checks of the traffic management zone, identifying potential hazards (e.g., defective signage, poor visibility, unauthorised parking), and immediately reporting any issues to the site supervisor or foreman.
• Communication & Coordination: Acting as the key communication link between site operatives, vehicle drivers, and the site management team. Using a two-way radio effectively to coordinate vehicle movements and alert teams to any oncoming traffic or safety concerns.
• Public Interface & Customer Service: Professionally interacting with members of the public, answering basic queries about site works, and providing clear, polite instructions to ensure their safety and minimise disruption.
